Right plant, right place

Focus your attention on lists of pollinator plants for your specific light and soil conditions.

For example, if you have clay soil and sun look at the Prairie Moon Nursery’s Tallgrass Exposed Clay Subsoil Mix. Plants are listed on the “Components” tab, and then choose “Photos of Plants in this Seed Mix”. You can also search the Prairie Moon Nursery’s online Seeds catalogue by sun exposure, soil moisture, bloom time, height, and bloom colour.

Wildflower Farms, in Southwestern Ontario, also has native plant seed mixes for different conditions, such as a Claybusters Seed Mix. For a wet area, you can look at the Northeast Pollinator Plants online catalog’s Pollinator/Rain Garden Collection for ideas.
