My name is Berit Erickson and I’ve been a passionate gardener for the past 20 years. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, which is in zone 5.
I’m an amateur; I have no science background, no special knowledge of entomology, botany, or ecology. Nor do I have any landscape design or horticulture training. The fact that I use common names, instead of latin names, for plants is an immediate give-away that I’m not a professional.
I consider myself pollinator and habitat gardening enthusiast. I’ve read a lot, and I’ve accumulated 2 years of pollinator gardening experience. Before that, I was in your shoes, so I think can anticipate the questions you have and the challenges you will face. I want to share my successes, what I’ve learned in my research, as well as my mistakes.
